About the Founder

 

Background & Teaching Experience

 

AngloFluent was founded by Ms. Shamael Arshi Mortuza (She/Her), known in the creative world as Arshi Mortuza

an educator, poet, and writer of microfiction.

 

Since beginning her teaching career in 2021, she has taught across university-level programs, college classrooms, community settlement initiatives, and international language programs. Her work spans academic English, ESL, Literature, and creative language instruction, supporting learners with diverse goals and backgrounds.

 

Having lived in seven countries and grown up across multicultural environments, she brings a global perspective to her teaching. This cross-cultural upbringing enables her to connect meaningfully with learners from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

 


Creative Work

 

In addition to her work as an educator, Mortuza is an active and published writer. She is the author of One Minute Past Midnight (Nymphea Publications, Dhaka, 2022) and Pressed Flower (Writers Workshop, West Bengal, 2026). Her poetry and microfiction have appeared in a wide range of literary outlets.

Her creative practice informs her teaching philosophy: language is not only a tool for communication, but also a medium for imagination, reflection, and connection.
