Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Q1: What’s the difference between a workshop and a mini-course?

A: Workshops are short, focused sessions designed for hands-on practice and quick skill improvement. Mini-courses are multi-session, structured programs that build skills progressively, often including exercises, feedback, and optional assessments.

Q2: Can I turn a workshop into a mini-course, or vice versa?

A: Yes — some sessions can be expanded or condensed depending on your goals. These adjustments usually fall under Customized Programs, which involve personalized planning and may include additional charges.

Q3: How many sessions are needed for a workshop or mini-course?

A: Workshops are typically 1–3 sessions (60–90 minutes each), while mini-courses are 4–6 sessions (60–90 minutes each). If your goals require a different number of sessions, we can design a tailored program through our Customized Language Program.

Q4: What age groups do you serve?

A: Our programs currently focus on adult learners (18+). For ethical and educational reasons, we do not mix youth and adult learners in the same class, as their learning dynamics differ. In the future, we may offer dedicated youth programs. Alternatively, if you have a group composed entirely of youth learners, we can design a Customized Language Program to meet their specific needs.

Q5: How are customized programs different from standard courses?

A: Customized programs are fully tailored to your goals, combining any combination of ESL, literature, poetry, or creative elements. They include a one-on-one consultation, flexible content, and ongoing adaptation. These programs are ideal for learners or organizations seeking a personalized experience beyond our standard workshops or mini-courses.

Q6: What technical requirements are needed for virtual sessions?

A: Sessions are conducted online via Zoom or Google Meet. Workshops are usually held on Zoom for interactive, real-time practice. Mini-courses may use Google Meet and include shared materials or assignments via Google Classroom, enabling structured follow-up and practice between sessions.

Q7: What materials will be provided?

A: Materials depend on the course type:

  • Workshops: Key handouts, prompts, and exercises shared during or after the session.

  • Mini-Courses: Lesson notes, exercises, supplementary readings, and optional assignments shared through Google Classroom.

Q8: How do I book a workshop or mini-course?

A: You can contact us via email at arshi.mortuza@gmail.com to discuss your goals, schedule, and preferred format. Once your course is confirmed, you will receive details on session timing, platform access, and any preparatory materials.

Q9: Are workshops and mini-courses suitable for organizations?

A: Yes — our programs are designed for organizations and larger groups, not for one-on-one tutoring. Sessions can be customized for company teams, academic programs, or creative communities, with flexible scheduling and content tailored to your group’s goals.

Q10: What is the schedule for workshops and mini-courses?

A: Session schedules vary depending on the time zones and availability of participants. For continuity and optimal learning, we recommend holding sessions once a week. Customized programs can be scheduled more frequently or flexibly, depending on your goals and group needs.

Q11: Do you offer discounts?

A: Generally, we do not offer discounts, as each workshop or mini-course involves careful planning, tailored materials, and individualized attention. However, sliding scale options may be considered for certain institutions, non-profits, or regions where affordability is a concern. Each request is evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Q12: What payment methods do you accept?

A: Payment is accepted via e-transfer (for Canadian clients) or credit card. Invoices are issued prior to the start of the program, and full or partial payment terms will be outlined at the time of booking.
